DeWinton Station Garden Railway

Overview

Over the years DeWinton Station Garden Railway has grown to become a truly unique property that has adopted an overall “Western Town” theme with a significant railway influence. This is now the private home of Barrie L. Roberts and companion Katharina Derksen located 3 KM west of the hamlet of DeWinton, on the Southern edge of Calgary's city limits.

The property was originally established by Dick and Joan Roberts, (Barrie’s parents) who then planted the abundance of trees that shelter the home and provide a sense of seclusion.

DeWinton Station Garden Railway will continue to focus its energies towards providing a top quality day visit destination, currently, we have an emphasis towards securing the specialty services of individuals willing to assist with our developments.

Establishing DSGR's “Maintenance-of-Way Support Team,” as described herein, will continue to accentuate our 2017 season and beyond.

Visitor Information

We have now successfully hosted seven annual open house events on July 1st, 2008 to 2015. Our public exhibit coincided with other Canada Day celebrations and the De Winton Community Association’s annual Stampede Breakfast.

Ongoing construction projects are still be evident, however non restrictive. Effective this year we will only consider private bookings for viewing and no further public events are planned.
